The nation's largest provider of home healthcare and hospice services needed to both bring their full team to the corporate headquarters in Lafayette, and accommodate their rapid growth. The primary design challenge was a sustainable addition to the existing 66,000 square foot facility that complemented the existing architecture. Incorporating the new requirements of work in the post-pandemic world was another important objective.

The new 300,000 square foot addition provides an open office environment, a conference center, training room, board room, dining facility, cafeteria, walk-in clinic, outdoor courtyard space, and fitness courses.

The building was initially targeting LEED Silver certification, though the owners later decided not to submit for certification. The building uses LED lighting throughout, and a high-performance building envelope allows for the building to perform 30% better than current energy code requirements. The site retains more water than required by law, using native Louisiana vegetation to filter water before it returns to the aquifer.
