Jefferson Market & Deli
Location: Lafayette, LA
Area: 2,300 Square Feet
Client: United Way of Acadiana
Chase Marshall Architects is transforming a historic 2,300-square-foot building at 620 Jefferson Boulevard into Jefferson Market & Deli, a new neighborhood grocery store in North Lafayette. Developed in partnership with United Way of Acadiana, the project brings fresh food and everyday essentials to a community with limited access to nearby grocery options.
The adaptive reuse preserves the building’s historic character while introducing a contemporary grocery and deli environment designed for everyday community use. The project also incorporates space and opportunities for health education, community programming, and connections to local resources.
By giving a historic neighborhood building a new and lasting purpose, Jefferson Market & Deli demonstrates how thoughtful adaptive reuse can support community revitalization while addressing an important need for accessible fresh food.
