Sitting on the corner of St. Mary Boulevard and Coolidge Street in the heart of the Oil Center, 900 Plaza is the transformation of the old Abdalla's Department Store into a two story, multi-tenant office building. The project offered Chase Design Group the unique opportunity to adapt an iconic building in Lafayette into a new usable function. The design includes the introduction of windows to allow natural light into the interior, the lowering of the second floor to increase the ceiling height of the second floor office spaces, and the installation of an elevator and common area restrooms. The entire envelope is clad in stucco to compliment the color of the adjacent Hilliard University Art Museum. A new drive-through banking facility is located on the Coolidge Street façade of the building to accommodate the bank tenant.
